Raise your hand if you have sat through a presentation that was all over the place… different fonts, different graphics, a different vibe on each page…🙋We know we have! But it doesn’t have to be that way! Here are 3 of the most crucial elements to include in your next presentation in order to make it pop:
When it comes to fonts – just keep it simple. Our general rule of thumb is no more than 3 fonts per presentation:
- 1 font for your titles
- 1 font for your body copy
- 1 bonus font for pop words, quotes or important data
By keeping your font choices to three styles, you are already miles ahead of the competition. Your simplistic and clear design style will be sure to impress your audience and keep their attention.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. There is nothing worse than seeing slide after slide with never-ending text. You do not want your audience reading your slides, you want them listening to what you are saying. We find that the best way to do that, is to give them an image. The image should be impactful and should relate to what you are discussing. For example, say you are presenting on a new building that your company constructed. Use a picture of the building for the entire slide (no text) and talk to your audience about it. They will have a visual reference, but their main focus will be on the words you speak.
3. Logo Placement
This last one might seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised. Most people tend to think that placing a logo at the beginning or end of your presentation is enough. But we say, no, no. Logo placement is crucial when it comes to your presentation. Your slides should be branded with your logo on every, single, slide. Not only will this help solidify your branding, but it will help those in the room to remember you. It doesn’t need to be large and in your face – but noticeable all the way through.
